Which gothic bands would you recommend to a newer goth? (I primarily listen to visual kei)
I am curious as I know a few gothic bands yet suggested to me by my friend. I wanna discover more.

Newer goth looking for specific types of music :)
Hi everyone! I’m a newer goth (only a couple years have I been TRULY listening to goth music and partaking in the sub culture) and I have developed a very specific taste that I can’t quite figure out how to pinpoint. I really love goth music that has quieter, muffled vocals and is more focused on the instrumentals. Obviously I HAVE found music that fits that taste profile, but I struggle to find more/new music that fits it for my playlists. Song or band recommendations are highly welcome! On that same note, how does one tell if a band is actually goth or not? May be a dumb question, but I find it hard to discern between goth and non goth when such similar themes are used and I don’t want to be offensive to any old head goths that have curated the sub culture we enjoy today. Thanks, any answers or recs are much appreciated <3

Does any goth whos been in the scene for years feel nostalgic when helping newer goths?
Everytime I recommend bands to a newer goth it always reminds me of when I was 12 and getting into the scene. It's a good feeling. It's nice helping someone discover who they are. Does anyone else feel this way?! I hope I'm not alone on this lol

advice for a newer goth
i’ve been getting into the goth culture and i know that it’s all about listening to the music, i’ve listed to The cure, alien sex feind, and scary bitches (which i’ve been told are goth so i hope they are) and i’m hoping i can get some more recommendations of some well known songs!
also, i’d love to dress more trad goth or romantic goth but i know my parents are too strict so i mostly try and up-cycle clothes i’ve already got to make them look more goth (it helps my mum used to work in the funeral business so i get all her old clothes) if anyone had any tips on up-cycling it would really help

Newer generations of goth guitarists playing in the style of W.Hussey / Porl king?
A question, thats been lingering for a awhile, popped up in my head here …
Any recommendations on newer generations of really good gothic rock guitarists / guitar playing in the style of Marx/Hussey/King etc?
To be more specific: What I’m looking for is not more too simple copies of Wayne Hussey or the 2020s school of minimalism and so on. I’m looking for players like Porl King (when Rosetta Stone was still active) and Mark Wheeler (Who played on Irony of fate with Love like blood ages ago before they turned into a different more metal influenced act) who in my opinion took the style of playing into new directions but still stood with both feet in Gothic rock if you know what I mean.
Many of the newer bands I’ve come across are aiming for something more simple and minimalistic: Say, Molchat Doma – they’re great but they’re a bit of a different thing to me than my fave guitar goth acts (who all seems to have popped up in the 80s and 90s) She passed away is well produced and has good intense energy and so on but the guitars are nowhere near what Porl King did and Wayne Hussey still does (at least live)
Are there any new players/bands that I have missed? Any recommendations?
PS: I am very impressed by some of Pre-Occupations material by the way, I can hear clearly they've been through the LedZep, Hussey/Marx/S.Kilbey/Swans/fieldsofthe/etc thing but they doesn't count as a gothic rock band DS

Looking for newer darkwave stuff
I've been in the scene for a little over three years now and don't get me wrong, there are indeed some classics that I absolutely adore. I've explored a couple different sounds but when it comes to choosing one, I'm more likely to pick Vandal Moon or Bragolin over The March Violets or Bauhaus. I can't seem to find much similar to that
