Teen Gothic

Hi. I feel like I'm not goth enough to be considered goth. I'm really low maintenance because I have chronic exhaustion. I wear all black all the time I love the culture and I love the music, it's what I grew up on.

I just feel like I don't look goth, I know there's different sub cultures but I don't think my appearance fits any of them. I have dark hair and I have a lot of facial piercings but when it comes to makeup and how I dress I don't feel goth enough. I can't really afford nice gothic clothes and tbh I don't even like my body because I just feel like in order to be considered goth I need to be thin, which I'm not. I don't think that about others, just myself.

When it comes to makeup and accessories I just never have the energy to do it anymore, when I do I love it but it's very rare that I'm able to.

Have other people experienced this? Is there a subculture of low maintenance goths?

I noticed a lot of questions in this group pretaining to being Goth. Can Goths like this, Can Goths like different music, Can I be ____ and still be Goth…it seems everyone seems to get caught up in what a person who considers themselves Goth to be…like they have to fit a mold perfectly or be a stereotype. Is there that many people that feel that they can't be Metal, Goth, Punk, ect and like anything outside that image? If so, what makes someone feel that way?

I have searching and learning about the subculture a lot but it's only been tree years since i started. I wanted you to help me (if you want) yo still learning about bands that are not that popular, i Made a playlist but i feel like it's a long way till i finish it. On the other hand i wanted to know if someone can recommend me some films/documentaries about the subculture. I am a little bit obsessed about knowing more. Sorry, my english it's TRASH
