Teen Gothic

I love her music and I want to find more like it! especially if it is another female singer! 🦇

I've listened to Joy Divisions first album a few times because i assumed they were widely considered the first goth rock band, the Ramones of goth essentially. Only to now find out they're considered a proto-goth band apparently, the mc5 of goth if we're sticking with the punk rock allegory.

So what band then is considered the first 100% goth band. Not proto-goth, not an inspiration for goth, genuine goth music

Unfortunately, those are few, further adding to the suffering of us bass or bass-baritone vocalists. For me, if I had to pick one song, Amphetamine Logic by Sisters of Mercy would be a hell of an addition.

Really enjoy the old style of music "witching hour, rosetta stone etc.). Are there some new bands that make similar stuff?

A new goth night has recently opened in my city. There is not a large community in this area. There is more of a scene and people in the major city an hour away. But I'm happy there is something closer.

While I was there tonight I talked to the owner. He and his wife run a whole restaurant, while doing other nights. So he said they would like any recommendations and help with getting it together.

I like doing activities like this, especially if it helps someone, and gives a safe space. ^{^}

I was wondering what all you enjoy seeing or need to have at a goth club or night. This is more of a question on ambience, customer service, safety concerns, and similar answers to that.

Along with any interesting ideas, or neat things you took note of from other places! Not to copy but just to help out a new local goth night. 🙂

I just started listening to Echo and The Bunnymen and they sound gothic but I don't know if they are. I tryed searching it but it didn't give me any answers.

I'm not so daft as to bother people just trying to have a good time at the local goth club.

But as a middle millenial, dating sites just seem very unreliable. A lot of what I have found has been bots and people advertising business.

And the few times I've found real people, they're hesitant to move forward because the nail polish and eyeliner is weird to them, or they'd be embarrassed to bring someone home who does that.

So, what do you guys think? I'm happy to hear any ideas, opinions, or personal experiences, good, bad or funny.

I was watching a live performance of Jesus and Mary chain and they looked pretty goth to me, what do y'all think?
