Goth Rock Tone
Does anyone have any tips on how to get a good goth rock guitar tone in the same vein as Skeletal Family, March Violets or Love Like Blood? Be it recs for specific pedals or amps or whatever. Like could I get by with just a decent distortion and reverb pedal?

Our Visit To The Moon – new gloomy post-punk band from near Giessen in Germany
Hi! We're "Our Visit To The Moon", a really new and unknown gloomy post-punk band consisting of five members from near Giessen in Germany, north of Frankfurt/Main!
Our first single "Blurry" was released last Thursday (Aug. 31st) almost everywhere 😁! You can listen to it at https://linktr.ee/ov2tm
Feel free to blast it loud, share it and add it to your playlists! 😎
There you can also find social media, Bandcamp and mail links.
Here's footage from our first gig. The song is called "Definition of Fun": https://youtu.be/OdMUg2vFj9s?si=iQ4qoZN3mZe4bC_2
Our Visit To The Moon (short OV2TM) are: Karol Oskar (me) – vocals and bass, Consti – keys/synths and backing-vocals, Martin – rhythm-guitar and backing-vocals, Felix – Lead-guitar, Sebastian – Drums
Our biggest musical influences at this point are The Chameleons, Pink Turns Blue, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Killing Joke, as well as Iggy Pop and the Stooges, old-school punk, post-punk and new-wave/Neue Deutsche Welle (soundwise) in general, Interpol, The Editors and maybe bands you don't expect such as Queens of The Stone Age, Kyuss and Brant Bjork's projects.
At the moment we're working on our second single, planning concerts for the fall and winter in our Hesse region and a band photo-shoot 😂.
We're excited to read from you and maybe one day we'll meet at a show? That'd be awesome!

Difference between post punk and goth
What really is the difference because I hear people saying that the cure she wants revenge and joy division are all not goth and post punk but then see them in goth playlists is there a difference?

What goth stereotypes do you shamelessly dive right into?
Here are mine.
Most of my playlists are 80s post punk, metal, rock and basically any music that involves the guitar.
I love horror movies especially classic horror and the lost boys is my all time favorite movie.
I love coffin shaped things
I have tattoos and piercings
I read and write horror and love Anne rice novels
I love a good red wine
Peter Steele. Enough said.
I love unwanted animals like spiders, snakes and lizards
The list goes on and on

How can I dress more goth at work/school?
Since I graduated highschool last year, I have had the hardest time finding the time to dress goth. It honestly makes so me depressed when I think about it too much. 😭 I just feel like I can’t be myself anymore. I have to wear scrubs and tennis shoes to school as I’m going into cosmetology. For work, I have to wear a shirt with my jobs logo on it and pants “but not jeans.” So, basically khakis.(I have gotten away with like cargo/utility pants before.) I live in a pretty small town, so there’s not much to do outside of work or school that I can dress up for. Definitely no cool goth clubs. 💔 Online everyone seems to focus on corporate goth, but I work a pretty outdoorsy job.
I have had a lot of people tell me “welcome to the real world” when I have expressed this, so I’m hoping maybe someone here will have some suggestions!
Edit: for context I’m a girl lol
