Navigating social anxiety/imposter syndrome?

I hope I can get some insight on this <3 I'm sure many people have dealt with this feeling before.

Recently, I've been listening to goth music a lot. I like Scary Bitches and Aurat the most, I think. I love consuming content made by goths (like vlogs, art etc). I feel drawn to the aesthetics.

My issue is that I feel a little hesitant engaging with goth subculture more deeply bc I'm very very socially anxious. I want to talk to people with similar interests, but I'm afraid that I'm not knowledgeable enough on the subculture as a whole.

Going to clubs and concerts also feels very daunting. It looks very fun, but I'm like "am I allowed to be here" 😭 I like a whole host of diff genres and I know that other goth ppl do too, it's normal. But I feel like I'm specifically not allowed for some reason.

I think my question is, how should I get past these mental barriers and just enjoy the music? How do I make friends who share this interest with me without feeling like I'm an imposter?

I saw She Past away (my first concert ever) last night and had a blast!

The ticket price wasn't bad. It was $ 25. There was a cover band called Ghost Fetish, which I had never heard of, but are apparently a new band from Seattle. I was blown away by the entire experience. I can't accurately describe what I was feeling in words but the music really deeply stirred me.

I am glad I decided against wearing one of my Gothic lolita dresses. I went with a pair of New Rocks, which allowed me to see (since I am very short). She Past Away is one of my favorite bands so I was glad I could catch them here in the states especially. The venue was great, not too big or intimidating.

I can't dance but I was doing that side to side dancing in place dance and apparently so was nearly everyone else there. I think they said they would be back since the turnout was pretty good.

I am trying to get more involved in the local music scene (and probably along the west coast). I've been googling for similar upcoming events. Not sure where to start since I guess I'm new to the music scene.

Batcave Productions – stay clear!

It's been 4 months now and I'm still waiting for my order. They have literally replied to one of my emails which just said it had been returned to them and that they are posting it back out, I don't believe any of it though tbh. There's no reason for the package to be returned, unless they put the wrong address on it. I think that email was over a month ago now too so I'm just not sure what's going on.

baby bat looking for music recs!

hi so as the title says, i’m new to the goth subculture (i’ve only started my research in the last few weeks.)

i was wondering if anyone has band or artist recommendations that are goth but also lean towards rock? i prefer heavier music, and i find a lot of goth artists seem to have a lighter vibe yk?

Here’s all of my spins from the past 2 days

Not all strictly goth but definitely all something I think goths would dig. I’ll try and throw some links in the comments for people that haven’t heard.
